Graduate Students

Siraj Lyons
Siraj Lyons is a fourth-year graduate student in Experimental Psychology at the University of Louisville. Before joining NILCAMP, he earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Toledo, an MS in Psychological Sciences from Northern Michigan University, and an MS in Experimental Psychology from University of Louisville. His early work focused on individual difference in risk-taking and decision making. At Northern Michigan University, Siraj completed a thesis project investigating attentional biases among individuals endorsing symptoms typically associated with bipolar disorder. At the University of Louisville, he is interested in studying the neural correlates, particularly involving the midbrain, of executive function, affective processing, and reward/punishment sensitivity as they relate to major depressive and bipolar disorders. In his free time, Siraj can be found baking bread and desserts, playing guitar, cycling, knitting, and dreaming of snowstorms.

John Foley
John Foley is a third-year graduate student in the Experimental Psychology program at the University of Louisville. Before NILCAMP, he conducted research at the Cognitive Affective and Behavioral Integrative Neuroscience (CABIN) lab at Northern Michigan University where he received his B.S. in Neuroscience. Here he hopes to investigate links between anxiety and aggression through neuroimaging and behavioral methodology. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his cats, reading, and playing video games.
